In the event of suspected or identified contamination, define a targeted strategy based on its nature, origin, and the surfaces involved.
Contamination can be particulate, microbiological, chemical, or process-related. Technochim examines the findings and available analyses to characterize the situation and define the chemistry, intervention method, and appropriate controls.
Each treatment is defined according to the surfaces, the installation, and the required level of cleanliness.
The Challenges
01
Determine its nature, probable origin, extent, and the surfaces involved.
02
Define a strategy compatible with the contamination, the material, and the use of the equipment.
03
Document the work performed and plan checks suited to the criteria agreed with the client.
Your Need
Our Approach
There is no single answer to contamination. The nature of the contaminants, material, surface condition, geometry, history, and cleanliness requirements determine the strategy and operations to be implemented.
01
Characterizing the contamination
Gather findings, available analyses, and information relating to the equipment or installation.
02
Defining the protocol
Determine the scope, operations, material compatibility, and control criteria.
03
Decontaminating
Implement the defined sequence: treatment, circulation, cleaning, and rinsing as required.
04
Verifying & documenting
Verify the agreed criteria and document the operations and results necessary for project follow-up.
Decontamination may require different operations depending on the nature of the problem: cleaning, particulate removal, targeted chemical treatment, microbiological decontamination, or surface condition restoration.
Technochim offers targeted chemical decontamination for equipment and networks carrying clean fluids in particular. The strategy aims to treat microbiological contamination while seeking to preserve the surface condition of the stainless steel, even when its roughness is controlled or the surface is electropolished.
This treatment is not intended for metal pickling. Its compatibility must be established based on the stainless steel grade, other materials present, initial surface condition, circuit configuration, circulation conditions, rinsing, and planned controls.
The presence or recurrence of microbiological contamination does not, however, demonstrate the existence of a biofilm on its own. When a biofilm is suspected or characterized, a specific removal strategy must be implemented.
Decontamination targets a specific contamination and may include a disinfection step. This acts on microorganisms according to a defined level of activity and conditions.
Sterilization pursues a distinct objective, which requires an appropriate process and demonstration. Cleaning or disinfection is not sufficient to declare equipment sterile.
