Formulations & compatibility

Choose a chemistry suited to the material, the contamination, and the treatment objective.

Selecting a formulation takes into account contamination, materials, their surface condition, equipment configuration, and the desired outcome.

Key considerations

Parameters that determine the choice

01

Target the chemistry

Select the formulation based on the nature of the deposit, the contamination, and the surface condition.

02

Ensure compatibility

Identify the exposed materials and verify their compatibility with the intended treatment.

03

Define the conditions of use

Match the formulation to the implementation parameters, rinses, and appropriate checks.

Your needs

When should the formulation and its compatibility be assessed?

Technochim develops and controls more than 100 proprietary formulations, integrated into procedures and protocols tailored to various applications of degreasing, pickling, passivation, descaling, derouging, and decontamination.

Our approach

A formulation is never selected in isolation

At Technochim, chemistry is selected in its real context of use. Material, contamination, initial condition, installation configuration, and treatment objective are considered together.

01

Identify the materials

List the alloys, assemblies, and elements that will be exposed to the treatment.

02

Qualify the application

Identify the contamination, the initial condition, and the desired outcome.

03

Assess compatibility

Select the formulation and, when necessary, define the tests to verify its suitability.

04

Define implementation

Match the formulation to the application conditions, rinses, and planned checks.

Understanding formulations

More than 100 formulations, a chemistry to select

Technochim develops more than 100 proprietary formulations in-house to address the various issues encountered on surfaces and equipment.

Select the right chemistry

Depending on the application, different chemical families and strategies can be used. The choice depends on the desired action, the contaminant or deposit to be removed, the material, and the implementation conditions.

This diversity makes it possible not to rely on a single product, but to select the chemistry suited to the situation encountered.

Compatibility concerns the entire equipment

The presence of these materials within Technochim’s field of expertise does not mean that the same formulation can be used on each of them.

Compatibility is assessed for the formulation, the material, and the actual application conditions. On an installation, the analysis must also take into account the various elements likely to be exposed to the treatment.

When the application requires it, feasibility or compatibility testing can complement the study before defining the treatment conditions.

From formulation to protocol

A chemical formulation cannot be separated from its implementation conditions.

Concentration, temperature, contact time, application method, circulation, and rinses are among the parameters defined according to the treatment and the installation concerned.

The technical data sheet and the safety data sheet (SDS) are associated with the selected reference, while the implementation and control conditions are integrated into the documents applicable to the intervention.

Technochim expertise

Chemistry is not a product. It is expertise.

Technochim combines formulation, materials knowledge, and mastery of treatment processes to select a chemistry suited to the real application.

This expertise makes it possible to link the product to the surface, the process, the application parameters, and the desired outcome.
