Innovation

Innovation in the service of tomorrow’s surfaces

Develop new chemistries, new processes and new solutions to meet tomorrow’s industrial challenges.

Innovation at Technochim starts with a concrete objective: to do better, more efficiently, and with controlled impact.

Research & development

Five focus areas for tomorrow’s surfaces

It applies both to our historical markets — Pharma & Biotech — and to new fields such as aerospace, additive manufacturing, water treatment, high-tech and other industrial applications.

Chemistry • Processes • Materials • Surfaces

01 — Innovating in chemistry

Chemistry is one of Technochim’s main levers for innovation.

Learn more

With more than 100 formulations developed and mastered in-house, our R&D evolves products and treatment sequences according to materials, contamination and new industrial constraints.

The goal is to pursue overall process performance: improve efficiency while working to reduce, where possible, water consumption, rinsing, downtime, resources used and effluents generated.

Improve chemistry to improve the entire process.

02 — Developing higher-performance processes

A formulation cannot be separated from its conditions of use.

Learn more

Concentration, temperature, contact time, circulation, sequences, rinsing or automation are all parameters that R&D can act on.

Technochim therefore develops processes intended to be more efficient, reproducible and suitable for industrial implementation, while seeking to reduce their resource consumption and environmental impact.

Product + Process + Application = Overall performance

03 — Exploring new materials and new technologies

New alloys, complex geometries and new manufacturing methods are giving rise to new surface challenges.

WINGS — aerospace as a field for innovation

Technochim is taking part in the research project WINGS — Walloon Innovations for Green Skies, dedicated to developing technologies that contribute to more sustainable aviation.

Alongside Safran Aero Boosters and other industrial and scientific partners, Technochim is working on additively manufactured aluminium-silicon alloy components, notably for new generations of heat exchangers.

Technochim’s contribution focuses on developing an automated multiphase chemical treatment, designed to precisely control the surface condition of these complex parts and their functional properties — notably roughness, corrosion resistance and cleanliness.

04 — Anticipating new contamination challenges

Innovation also addresses new environmental and health challenges.

Learn more

Technochim is currently participating in a research project dedicated to drinking water treatment and controlling its various contaminants, with the aim of exploring new approaches to current and emerging water-quality issues.

This approach extends Technochim’s expertise in chemistry, contamination and interactions between surfaces, materials and their environment to new fields of application.

The project’s partners and detailed scientific focus areas will be presented once the programme can be disclosed.

05 — Innovating through networks

Innovation is also built through the exchange of expertise.

Learn more

Technochim develops its projects with its clients, universities, research centres and technology partners, combining industrial challenges with scientific knowledge.

Our R&D laboratory, our 3D microscopes, our characterisation capabilities and our mastery of treatments then enable us to test, measure, compare and optimise the solutions developed.

Performance & impact

Innovation driven by performance and impact

Do better

Develop new formulations, improve process efficiency, and address new materials, contaminants and surface functions.

With less

Seek solutions that reduce water, rinsing, downtime, resources consumed and effluents generated, without compromising the required performance.

What if the next innovation started with your challenge?

New material? New contaminant? New function? Process to optimise? Water consumption to reduce?

An industrial challenge without a satisfactory answer can become the starting point for a new R&D project.
